TORBAY'S first new private hotel in decades could be built as part of the regeneration of Torquay''s decaying waterfront. WE ALL know the seafront has been left to rot and something must be done. This is quite a different situation than that currently going on in Babbacombe, for example. We need the right change in the right places.
Roger, the war memorial WHAT was interesting was the history section that stated that the Pavilion was constructed due to falling 'standards' in Torquay and a landmark building was required to pull in the tourists. Effectively, the same debate is taking place now, with Torquay losing out to other resorts and cities like Exeter. A sympathetic reconstruction would turn Torquay into a destination for the 21st century and start bringing in the tourists and create some jobs.See the full content of this document
