ONCE again Teignbridge Council has shown its contempt for civil liberties in a bid to crack down on anti-social behaviour 'New powers to fight community nuisance' (HE, August 21).

The notion unskilled community wardens, armed with powers hived off from the police, are qualified to hand out 'fines' are risible.
