I READ with interest Keith Sharp's comments on Teignbridge Council's community environment wardens ('Wardens plan is threat to our civil liberties', September 2) and thought it might be helpful to clarify some of the facts about the service.
Far from being 'untrained', community environment wardens take a City & Guilds Course in being an Accredited Person. The team are vetted by the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary, and the Chief Constable has to be satisfied that the organisation and individual members of the team have undertaken the relevant training.See the full content of this document
