KINGS bowling star Sam Tolchard ended the Hong Kong Classic on a winning note after the 21-year-old from Marldon won the men's pairs with newly-crowned singles champion and fellow England international Rob Newman.

After a gruelling competition at the famous Kowloon Bowling Green Club where they battled through the 11-match group stage to qualify for the semi-final line-up, these two close friends beat Hong Kong in the last four and Scotland 18-7 to take the title.
