The most shocking thing about the trashing of Downs Hotel by a bunch of lads on a stag weekend (HE, June 6) was not the mayhem they caused but the fact that there are still hotels in the Bay willing to take them in.

Stag and hen weekends are not good for Torbay and never will be. The people on them want the cheapest accommodation possible for which they have no respect. They have no interest in the Bay beyond the nearest bar in which they can get utterly drunk.
