A LEADING campaigner against the proposed Churston golf course development had previously been actively lobbying in favour of some development there on behalf of the club, documents obtained by the Herald Express show.

But yesterday Alan George, a leading members of the RAGS action group, who as former club chairman helped broker the original deal with Torbay Council for the club's lease, insisted that at that time he was trying to get the best deal for the club.
