A MAN was shot in the stomach by an air rifle marksman as he attended a family engagement party in Torquay. The 35-year-old from Paignton suffered blood loss in the incident at the Central Conservative Club in Higher Union Street late on Saturday night.

He was able to pull the pellet from his bleeding belly before alerting police at 10.55pm.
