CAMPAIGNERS calling for the retrial of a man currently serving a lengthy jail term for the attempted murder of his estranged wife have been told a Devon and Cornwall Police senior officer is now looking into their concerns.

Ian Hurved has served seven and a half years of a 12-year sentence handed down by Exeter Crown Court after he was found guilty of trying to kill wife Fay, then a serving police officer, by stabbing her after a row at their former marital home in High House Close, Dawlish.
