MAYOR Nick Bye (pictured) has been asked to protect Pounds 1million worth of 'priority' services from budget cuts, including CCTV monitoring and street lighting.
After reviewing his proposals to axe Pounds 9million from the budget, members of the overview and scrutiny board asked him to reconsider proposed cuts to services including only switching off street lighting in residential and industrial areas, to save Pounds 100,000 not Pounds 400,000, to continue some CCTV monitoring by putting back in Pounds 100,000 of the proposed Pounds 200,000 cut and to reinstate some Pounds 500,000 worth of children's services.See the full content of this document
