I am prompted to write to draw attention to the situation that is developing at Cockington as I believe that many local people and visitors will not be aware of what is happening there until it is too late.
Some years ago the council decided that the best way to protect the unique and historic estate of Cockington would be to hand over the village, court and lands to a specially-formed trust. The council would pay an annual sum towards the upkeep of the estate and the trust would be responsible for protecting and preserving the historic environment for future generations.See the full content of this document
