Following my letter 'Bird feeders are encouraging rats' (Your Views, March 3) I contacted the Environmental Health department voicing my concerns and seeking advice quoting the 'Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949'.
I have been advised to call in the pest control officer should the vermin come on to my property but what is the point of that if the source of the problem ie: feeding seagulls, is allowed to continue? It is like changing wet socks for dry ones because you have a hole in your shoe and then putting the same shoes back instead of having the hole repaired.See the full content of this document
