IT'S A chilling thought that there are little more than 10 weeks to Christmas. What's even more chilling is the memory of last year when the snow fell in bucket loads, we ran out of grit, traffic jammed and many businesses were severely disrupted.

Difficult as the conditions were and are likely to be again this winter, we don't have to rely just on British stoicism -- we can do something to protect our businesses by planning ahead and undertaking a risk assessment exercise with worse case scenarios and business continuity plans.
