Following the minister for the South West, Ben Bradshaw's, comments on 'Nimbys' in the Herald Express ('MP: We must fight housing Nimbys', July 7), I fully agree with Kate Rendle (Your View, July 16).

It seems that whenever a politician encounters opposition, either the word 'nimby' spews from his lips or he shoots off at a tangent in another direction to avoid the flack.
