Kingswear Historians will open their programme of meetings on Monday, January 28 at 7.30pm in the village main hall when archivist Trevor Miles will be reviewing some of the features of the times of the Celts, Romans, Saxons and Vikings in the Dart area.

He will be covering the arrival around 3,500BC of the Neolithic 'first farmers' who brought with them from Europe the ability to sow crops and herd animals, followed 1,500 years later by the Bronze Age 'smiths' able to work the copper and tin deposits of Dartmoor and develop trade in tin metal.
