Summary
IN reality June is a great festival of flowers. But the wild roses are high among the floral stars of the intense plant activity. The first to bloom is the creamy white burnet, followed by the sweet briar with its lovely scent. No wonder it was once known as the 'applescented rose'.
The dog rose has pale pink flowers on long prickly stems. Then, in midsummer, the field rose appears. And I love them. How lucky we are in the UK to have 100 species.See the full content of this document
