It seems I am not by any means the only one who is wondering where the swallows have got to during this miserable summer. Plus swifts and house martins which must also have heard a long range forecast and decided to stay in warmer climes.
My friend and fellow columnist Brian Carter rang to say that he, too, has noticed these lovely birds are less numerous this year. Far fewer swifts than usual in Palace Avenue, Paignton and although swallows can be seen zooming around Cockington they are also down in numbers.See the full content of this document
