Al Fresco Concert Raises Pounds 700 for Children's Charity

DARTMOUTH's naval college volunteer band entertained a huge crowd of music lovers at an al fresco concert in the town, raising more than Pounds 700 for charity at the same time.

The band asked spectators to make a donation to the Children's Hospice South West said local hospice friends' group leader Liz Roe. She said: "An enormous group of spectators were totally charmed by the wonderful volunteer band who played in Mayor's Avenue Park. "The band, led by director Phil Watson, charmed us all with their incredible skills and the enormous variation of the pieces.
