BABBACOMBE Downs campaigner Arthur Christian has announced his decision not to stand as an Independent for Torbay in the General Election.
Mr Christian had considered putting himself forward as an independent Parliamentary candidate on May 6 in protest at the way the Downs fish cafe row was handled by politicians. He said he was angry Torbay mayor Nick Bye granted entrepreneur Nigel Bloxham the right to build a fish restaurant on the Downs despite hundreds of local protests.See the full content of this document
