Summary
I wish to respond to the letter from Cllr Jenny Faulkner and Cllr Cindy Stocks (HE, April 22) regarding the budget for children's services in Torbay.
As Children's Champions and councillors of long standing, both councillors Faulkner and Stocks work hard on behalf of the children and young people in the Bay, for which I am grateful. They do, however, seem to consistently fail to understand the intricacies of the children's services budget. Yes, the budget is tight - as it is across the council. This situation, I am sad to say, is no different to that of almost all other local authorities across the country and, in the current economic climate, is only set to get worse.See the full content of this document
