SOUTH Hams Council has been cleared of any wrongdoing following a year-long ombudsman investigation into how planners dealt with a controversial Pounds 2.8million affordable homes scheme in Totnes.

The first phase of social landlords Tor Homes Culverdale redevelopment scheme to flatten nine old peoples' bungalows and replace them with 19 new flats was given the planning go-ahead as long ago as July 2009.
