BOB COLE'S letter (HE, June 4) contained facts well worth printing in large letters and hanging round Nick Bye's neck: "Preston and Paignton beaches regularly fail EU water quality tests because of levels of faecal streptococci bacteria, the source of which are the Combined Sewage Overflows (CSOs) that issue on to the beaches. Until something is done to rectify the problem of the CSOs, the beaches will continue to fail to come up to EU standards."
Bob Cole then went on to point put in layman's language what needs to be done: "... the mayor and the council should be getting together with South West Water to find a way of feeding the CSOs into the Clean Sweep pipe".See the full content of this document
