RECENTLY I wrote in response to Parker's Pen, backing Jim Parker's support for Nigel Bloxham's plan for a world-class restaurant on Babbacombe Downs.

One of the points I stressed in that letter was that it appears to me that the torrent of negativity that used to rage through your letters is easing off, and the views of those who take the time to write in are slowly becoming more sensible and forward-looking. In the days before you published my letter, I noticed several others putting forward very similar views.
