Summary
The 20th annual conference of District 1290 (West Devon & Cornwall) took place over the weekend of March 6-8 at the Durrant House Hotel, Bideford. This was the district's annual chance for all clubs to get together to share ideas and listen to some inspirational speakers.
District Governor Alan Jones, from Tavistock, formally opened the conference on the Saturday. Towards the end of the morning session, Rotarian's Eddie Farwell and Howard Rosevear, who has donated land in Cornwall for Children's Hospice South West's new home, were presented with Paul Harris Fellowships - the highest award that can be awarded by the organisation. There was a surprise in store for District Governor Alan at the end of this ceremony when he too was made a Paul Harris Fellow.See the full content of this document
