I FEEL I must reply to Rebecca Kemble's letter headlined 'Unbearable consequences of golf club development' (Your Views, July 16) as her comments are completely untrue.

Her statement that her councillors will not support their local residents is completely false. I have stated publicly at the first Residents Against Golf Course Sell-off public meeting, at a recent Community Partnership meeting and in a letter to the latest RAGS public meeting that I support them wholeheartedly in their opposition to the Golf Club Development. Allowing any building, irrespective of type, to be built in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, Coastal Countryside Zone etc, must be objected to most vociferously.
