NEWTON Abbot Fishing Association has celebrated being the first angling club in Devon and Cornwall to receive the prestigious ClubMark award because of the work it does with junior anglers.

Supported by Dean Sandford, regional development officer for the Angling Development Board, the club spent time getting its policies, procedures and activities in the areas including coaching, child protection, sports equity and ethics fully documented for the award.
