Brixham and Tics Clash at Festival
UNDER 7s TORQUAY U7s put up a strong performance in the Devon Festival at Ivybridge to win their pool without losing a match. The opening game against Stonehouse was a hard-fought affair, which ended in a 25-all draw.
Saracens Put to Sword in County Sevens Final
UNDER 13s BRIXHAM won the plate competition when they hosted the Devon U13s seven-a-side tournament for the first time. The pool opener against Topsham started promisingly with Brixham 21-7 up at half time thanks to tries by Andre Simonetti, Alex Mulholland and Bradleigh Langdon.
Teigns Leave Cockles Shell Shocked ; Under 9s
THE pace and passing of Teignmouth U9s was just too good for Exmouth as 13 tries were scored on the way to a 65-10 win. Leading the way to the line was Brad Breslen, who touched down five times, with William Annal and Robert Sear scoring twice and Ethan Harris, Jack Carden and Tom Cairns one each.
Newton Finish On High Note ; Under 11s
NEWTON Abbot U11s signed off for the normal season with a fine 26- 0 win over a gutsy Paignton. The All Whites delivered one of their best performances of the season to score four tries and shut out the opposition.
Torquay Pair Bag Trebles in 40-Pointer ; Under 10s
LOUIS Smith and Karl Greatrex both scored try hat-tricks as Torquay U10s defeated Teignmouth 40-0. Torquay got off to a great start with an early try by Karl Greatrex, who pushed his way through. Torquay then went three tries up following great runs by Smith. Great tackling from Jack Fennis and Alex Loewy prevented Teignmouth getting anywhere near their try line.
Navy Gives Lifeboat Station a Lick of Paint
THE Royal Navy has been painting the town... blue. Personnel from the Dartmouth naval college were armed with paint brushes to give the town's lifeboat station a good going over.
Local Crafts Market for Easter

Suspended Sentence for Waving Knife at Police
A SCHIZOPHRENIC who waved a knife at police has escaped an immediate prison sentence. John McMillian, 20, of Elmsleigh Road, Paignton, called officers to his flat before grabbing a kitchen knife.
