Torwood Plan Supported but Councillors Do Have Concerns [Edition 3]
COUNCILLORS gave their support to a multi-million pound development for Torwood Street when they met to discuss the plan yesterday but they have raised some concerns. It was standing room only at a special meeting of the development control committee held at the Riviera Centre to allow the public to ask questions of the developers, New Riviera Estates, before councillors discussed the planning application.
Waitrose Allowed to Deliver On Sundays [Edition 3]
WAITROSE will be allowed to make deliveries to its Plainmoor store on Sundays, councillors have decided. Torbay planners agreed to let the upmarket superstore receive deliveries on Sundays, despite concern from some residents.

ARSONISTS are believed to have torched a Pounds 46,000 car outside Torquay United's football ground. Police say they are treating the incident in Marnham Road, Plainmoor, as a deliberate attack.
Asbo and 100 Days in Jail for 'Persistent Offender', 74 [Edition 3]
A 74-YEAR-OLD man who dressed in schoolboy short trousers, assaulted teenagers and tried to urinate in a shop has been issued with an anti-social behaviour order. Frederick Amery (pictured) was also sentenced to 100 days in prison after he pleaded guilty to four charges of assault when he appeared at Torbay Magistrates' Court via a video link.

Man Hurt in Collision with Car
A 63-YEAR-OLD man suffered head injuries when he was in collision with a car in Totnes. The injured pedestrian, from Totnes, is believed to have been thrown against the windscreen of the car in the accident.

Pounds 3.5m Plan to Build Affordable Homes [Edition 2]
DEVELOPERS have submitted Pounds 3.5million plans to build 21 affordable and sustainable homes on land at Chudleigh Knighton. Cornwall-based company First Step Homes submitted plans for the two and three bedroom properties near Devon Heath to Teignbridge Council last month. The development also includes 32 parking spaces.
