NATIONAL research into the effects of the recession has found the current economic downturn has hit the South West the hardest. The study, conducted by Kleeneze, found just under half (48 per cent) of households in the South West have lost income since the start of the recession. The average reduction in household income was found to be 17 per cent, equating to an average loss of Pounds 5,715 per year.

Rugby Pair Run in Memory of Friends and Family
TWO Newton Abbot ladies' rugby players are taking part in a 10- mile run in memory of family and friends who lost their battles with cancer. Harriet Taylor and Sharon Claydon, from Paignton, have laced up their running shoes to train for the Bupa Great South Run in Southsea on October 25 in aid of breast cancer research.
