Residents have demanded Torbay Council makes a bendy narrow lane one-way, following an accident in which a car ended rolled on to its side. The Peugeot ended up with its wheels in the air after colliding with a yellow Volkswagen on Brim Hill, Maidencombe, on Monday evening.

Waiter, 26, Brought Out of Coma by Medics

Head injury victim Kevin Fannon Jnr from Torquay has regained consciousness after being in a coma for nearly a fortnight. The 26-year-old hotel waiter was woken up by hospital staff over the weekend, much to the delight of his parents, three brothers, sister and many friends who have been on tenterhooks since he was found unconscious in St Efrides Road in the early hours of Saturday June 13.

Scooter Crash Death Man Was Over Drink Limit

A man died after crashing a moped into a railway bridge parapet while more than twice over the legal drink drive limit, an inquest heard. South Devon Coroner Ian Arrow recorded a verdict of accidental death after hearing painter and decorator Garry McCarthy, 41, from Newton Road, lost control of the red Sin City Hopper scooter he was riding and crashed at around 5.30pm on Sunday, October 12, last year.

Food Store Manager's Leap for Charity

The sky is the limit for Jim Devine, of Paignton, who will be taking a leap for charity when he makes a parachute jump this summer. The manager of the Dawlish Co-operative food store will join eight colleagues as they fly high and jump out of a plane at 13,000ft on Sunday, July 19, to raise pounds1,600 for the Co- operative's charity of the year, the Royal National Institute for the Deaf.
